Comic Classics : Artist Michael Turner

Looking for DC Comics that tie in or might tie in to DCUO. Comic Classics is a weekly post that summarizes various stories based on its series arc, the artist, or writers.

Michael Turner

When it comes to comic books I am very picky about the art. I find it hard to get through a comic that lacks a visual component. There are two artist (completely different styles) that have never disapointed me.... Alex Ross and Michael Turner.

Turner started writing for DC in 2004 starting with Superman. His artwork quickly gained fame and he moved on to other titles such as JLA, Flash, Supergirl, Superman/Batman, Identity Crisis (Future Classic post), and Teen Titans.

Turner died on June 27, 2008 at the age of 37. He was a very sought after author. He worked on Marvel Civil War, World War Hulk, Wolverine, and the Fantastic Four.

I highly recommend him for new readers and for future collectors. Some More Pics Below. Enjoy

Can You Identify the Different Supergirls?

The teenage version of Superman. The now incarnation of Supergirl is a roughly 18 year old girl, who has been in suspended animation, since the destruction of Krypton inside a space ship. Armed with all Supermans powers, she can be quite deadly when she is PMSing during that time of the month.

 Being new to Earth she has a lot to learn about customs and traditions, she recently started smoking and shortly after quit. She has embraced her inner-teenager and can be seen as a rebel, often ignoring Superman's advice, heading out to night clubs with former villians, selling priceless kryptonian artifacts (self healing device) to Batman for huge sums of money, and streeking in the streets (Where was I?)



She has made a few bad decisions, she is a teen after all. She recently was seen making out with Ultraman the evil verson of Superman (Not Ultramann). She has dated Captain Bommarang's Son and has made out with Nightwing. In the short time since her ship landed on earth, she sure is getting around.

Seriously whats so BIG about her?

Powergirl is the adult supergirl from an alternate earth that was destroyed in the epic comic series Crisis on Infinite Earths. She is the sole survivor of earth-2, after her cousin (Superman Earth-2) was killed in the series Infinite Crisis by Superboy Prime. She is a no nonsense woman, who the JSA relies on for her brute strength.

While she has never been romantically tied to anyone, that doesn't stop her fom getting pissed at people like Iimmy Olsen and Beast Boy for staring. (Seriously She should have seen that coming when she designed her costume).

Many heros have long lusted after Powergirl. Tech Genius Toyman(little asian kid who can build anything) once made a deal with Batman that he would build anything Batman needed in exchange for one date with Powergirl. Of course Batman delivered. She is currently the Chairwoman of the JSA.

Lets try to do Kahndaq or Batcave Part 1

So a couple of us tried the new raid last night. Its no walk in the park. Expect lots of Adds, and expect to die real quick if they are ignored. We got to the first boss kinda fast. But progress slowed to a halt trying to find the right strategy.

However with the help of a few new memebers (The Bear and Venus) and the return of Damian X we were able to beat the first boss and received 4 marks of distinction.

Hello Tier 2 gear!

The group consisted of

2 healers(Savior and Yasu)
2 controllers(Damian X & The Bear)
2 tanks(Adventure and Ultra)
2 dps( Eos & Minnow).

You need real good healers, and controllers for this fight due to the amount of damage and heals tanks need and energy for the dps.

Be on the look out for a raid on Wednesday (night) and Sunday (7pm cst) for the Kahndaq, Batcave 1, and possibly Batcave 2

Its a Big One!! Update 2/22/11

So the update is out.....bout f***ing time. I guess its kind of a big download. Good luck with that hopefully u got a nice connection.

Couple big things out of Update is a new duo (bane), an Alert (some love shit), and a Raid (inner batcave). There is also new armor, races, and catwoman mission.

Stay tuned for the BUG Update content. They fixed alot of bugs (freezing) and bugs with powers and weapons. That information will be posted a little later today. Stay Tuned
